Interview with stellartcorsica Digital Artist
Hi stellartcorsica , can you tell us a little about you ?
My name is Estelle Chomienne aka Stellart. I come from Corsica (France). I am 35. I am a self-taught digital artist for 4 years. I do personal photo manipulations since 2013.
How did you get started in the world of arts ?
Drawing in traditional art, but I do prefer the digital media with Wacom tablet.I always loved drawing when I was a child. I used to do portraits and dresses.
I can see in your profile that you're a Digital Artist. Please tell us what your specialty is in this area and why you decided to dedicate yourself to it?
I do mostly compositings and digital painting. When I discovered Photoshop, it became a real passion straight away.
What other kind of art do you like to do ?

I see that a few of your works made the cover of Photoshop Magazine. I think this is a great step in your career! Please tell us more about it!
-In June 2013, the french Advanced Creation Photoshop asked me if they could publish “Sweet Arrogance“. I was so happy!! And in november I was part of their cover with my clown “The Show is over“.And then they asked me to do tutorials. In march 2015, they asked me to represent their new challenge by Fotolia with “Shark World“, and in July, I’ve made the cover of the july magazine with “Magic of Photoshop“.

Some people believe that this is not art, for the reason that art is self-expression and Digital Art is visual communication with commercial and informational purposes. What is your opinion about it ?
I don’t agree of course, because I show my personality, I share my deep emotions in my creations. It is only me and no commercial purpose, because it is a passion. I do make the difference between my work of graphic designer all the week and my personal creations, that are my art expression, I do in my free time.
Do you create art just for yourself or do you make art at the request of a client?
Before answering, I have to precise that I am not a freelancer, and I work full time in the week for an enterprise, I am their graphic designer.In parallel, there is my artistic life. And my clients are Advanced Creation magazine or You Art Lucky for whom I’ve made 2 collections of smartphone shells in 2014 that were sold on their webstore and also in some SFR stores in France.
I recently noticed that one of your works received a Daily Deviation!
What was your reaction ?

What advice would you give to those who want to be digital artists or professional artists someday?
Always work harder, in order to progress and have more fun. And keep discovering amazing artist on DA
